Maybe?

So, I have contributed highly to the wife's love of all things bag. DVF, Marc, Cole Haan...blah.blah.blah. I think it started when I bought her one for grad school graduation and escalated from there. I like her to have nice things that she can keep forever and a day. While browsing through the latest T-Magazine, I spotted this Longchamp. Even in green, it speaks timeless. In my opinion, you pay any substantial price, it MUST be timeless and essential. Never bought a clutch either. Mother's Day or Birthday? Maybe.

Can't wait for Spring

In anticipation of spring, here's a nice poem about spring by Langston Hughes called In Time of Silver Rain. I always hated analyzing poetry in high school. It seemed so useless to a teen. I'm like, just enjoy the words and quit with the hidden meaning jive.

In time of silver rain
The earth
Puts forth new life again,
Green grasses grow
And flowers lift their heads,
And over all the plain
The wonder spreads
Of life,
of life,
of life!

In time of silver rain
The butterflies
Lift silken wings
To catch a rainbow cry,
And trees put forth
New leaves to sing
In joy beneath the sky
As down the roadway
Passing boys and girls
Go singing, too,
In time of silver rain
When spring
And life
Are new.

I love spring time and especially love it for the change to polos, oxfords, drivers, and khakis. I have taken a liking to monograms these days. Why not? I found them quite pretentious at some point but find them essential additions for any man's wardrobe. It's a bold statement about being proud of who you are. I am particularly fond of Ralph Lauren's custom-fit oxford. I picked up a few of these a couple of years back and need a couple more the round out the color selection. Oxford is designed to be particularly cool material for warm months and this shirt is somewhere between casual and dressy. I also just picked up a few Repp pique polos from J.Crew on a sweet sale pictured below.

I'm so excited!

About to crawl into bed with a cup of Chai and a copy of the latest Real Simple magazine that I swiped from my bestie Jill!! Sweet Relaxation..

But before I do that.. Just wanted to post a couple of cute finds that I came up on while perusing the internet on some of my fav sites..

I'm absolutely amazed at the makeover to this $40 credenza from the Little Green Notebook.
I am SO on a mission to find my own little treasure to spice up for the house.  But first I will need to get a different color paint on these walls for the perfect backdrop.

Hey Good Lookin'!

Tried my hand at a few twists on some Southern favorites.. I was watching Paula Deen last week and this guy Kofi Moyo was on, hooking up some Candlelight Catfish and Quick Spicy Collards. I added some smoked turkey necks, since I'm from Jacksonville and that's just how we do it;-p  I also also made some rice and sweet and buttery carrots (add brown sugar and butter).  Leftover cupcakes from last nights Halloween Party will be just the treat we need to make sure our jeans are fitting nice and snug..

Once again hubby is a member of the clean plate club.. sweet!

On another note, I was nosing around on the anthropologie site and saw these lovely little diddies.. A girl can dream cant she:-) I know I should be looking at sweaters and the like but I figured with a cute jacket and some boots?

Hubby is putting the little one to bed tonight... So I get a little time to myself... A mommy's work is never done:-)
