MAKE THIS [DIY] PRETTY AUTUMN WREATH

WHAT YOU NEED:

glue gun
glue sticks
paint
little cups
kraft coffee filters
grape vine wreath
scissiors
masking tape

WHAT TO DO:

1. Dye about 10 - 12  coffee filters.
You could very well just do all Kraft colored flowers and not dye them at all.. But I wanted it to feel like fall so I picked some fall colors (red, yellow, orange, pink) and then used brown to mute them a bit. Put paint in your cups, add a little brown and stir… then add a little water to loosen… Then you can shove about  4 (crumpled) filters in each cup. Wait about 20 minutes. Then I laid out plastic to open them up and let them dry (about 20 minutes). You'll be able to tell when they are dry.

2. Cut out Flowers.
In hindsight, this took me a lot longer than it should have.  Because I could not wait an wanted to cut and then immediately place it on the wreath. To move more swiftly go ahead and cut out all of your flowers first.  Here is the link to the awesome tutorial I used.

3. Arrange flowers on your wreath.
Once you've cut out all of your flowers, then you'll arrange them on your wreath by putting a generous amount of hot glue on the (tape) bottom of your flowers and holding them for a few seconds in place where you want on your wreath. I did the front of the wreath and then filled in the outside perimeter so that it looked nice and full.

4. Add embellishments.
I only have maple trees in my yard. So I put on a black ski mask and snuck into a neighbors yard and scoured for acorns. Just kidding, I texted her and she told me where the key was:-) I also found a few fall leaves and shoved them in and on the wreath with the hot glue.

5. Hang your wreath!

TA DA!! Cute Right?! I finished this up in time to hang it on the door before we took our family photos over the weekend. I suppose now its time to make a Holiday Wreath? Stay tuned:-)

HOUSE TO HOME MAKEOVER: LAUNDRY ROOM

One of my goals for this year was to try and really focus on making our house a home. We've been here for a bit but with major life changes happening every year (new jobs, new kids..) the attention to the details of really personalizing the house and making it "ours" has not really moved along. So I decided to pick a little corner of the house and move out from there.

Laundry is one of my least favorite chores. I'm pretty certain that (like Gremlins) they multiply when water is added. So it seems that I'm taking out (and having to fold) more than I put into this washing machine.. But I digress.

We actually painted this room (incredible hulk?) green when we first moved in. Green is my favorite color and I wouldnt be brave enough to do that in any other room in the house. I REALLY like it. Its bright and cheery and helps me feel a bit better about whats about to go down when I open that door (loads of it:-)

A dear friend made me a lovely skirt for the laundry basin (sink) and I can hide a few cleaning products underneath and in the bins under the washer/dryer.

Munchkin and H are (not so) secret Star Wars junkies and love to do these Lego sets together. For now this is their home.

Laundry still isnt my favorite thing to do, but for now this is my new favorite room in the house.

I cant believe school starts in less than a month. I'd like to whip this little space into shape - An organized space for her and the little brother to color and read, and play.

Do you have any plans to spruce up some rooms soon? I'd love to hear all about it.
xx,
Bunnie
