Fall is in Full Swing

Fall is definitely in the air. All of the leaves are turning red,  Its been a little chillier and we lit the first fire of the season ( I even broke out the UGG boots once or twice).

I woke up abruptly this morning thinking of two things:
1. I've mistakenly been paying my baby sitter the same price even though I have two kids now instead of just the one.
2. I was voted most talented at my high school and I really want to live up to that expectation. I know its SUPER corny but, deep down, its what makes me happy.

I disappeared for a bit this week. Its been a pretty disappointing and discouraging few days. i don't feel like I've been the best friend (this 6 month old is cramping my style).  I have had moments where I had to apologize to a four year old for not behaving (is dumping someone else's toys on the floor the right thing to do? - my bad).  i even found myself locked in a bathroom at a 4 year-olds birthday party just so i could have few moments to myself (you have a very nice and calming powder room).

When you feel like you are working really hard putting great time and effort into your pursuits and passions. When you feel so proud of the things you create. A no, not being considered or being ignored can take the wind out of you for a minute (I know you saw my email?!)

And briefly this week I thought to myself, "Maybe I can't do it."  But then I was reminded - I know someone who can.

God can do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or even think. According to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20). Hallelu:-)

So I will continue to have lofty goals. I will continue to do what makes me happy. And I will continue to be grateful and thankful for life and strength and the many blessings.

And I instead of being discouraged, I will work harder.

So here are the good parts of my week that made me smile in spite of a few clouds:

I harvested the last of the peppers from my garden and used them to make some sausage with peppers.

We've been having picnics in the park every Saturday this fall. I'll tell you about the yummy chicken salad recipe I added to my recipe box. And yes that is a real tiara on the table.

And I ate more Snickers than the law should allow on Halloween (I have a chocolate problem). I am swearing off all sweets until Thanksgiving, when I will eat more sweet potato pie than the law should allow:-)

I hope you had a great weekend and your week will be even better.
