LIST OF TEN | SIMPLE JOYS

Happy Thursday!

This isn't the post I had planned to share today, but then I got an email that lead me to an article that inspired me to stop and think, about this.  I had never heard of Darling Magazine before. So I'm super excited to stalk and be inspired by the loveliness over there.  Perfectly curated and inspiring pages and articles that focus on the ART OF BEING A WOMAN.  Style, Intellect, Entertaining, Exploring, Beauty - Yes, DARLING... I'm totally smitten.

One of topics inspired me to stop and consider what makes me happy RIGHT NOW. The little things. Not what will make me happy (like when I lose this last 15 pounds ) but reveling in the everyday moments that I can and do find joy in. So I stopped and just started writing. I actually came up with more than ten. But these came the easiest.  You should try it.  Don't think about it too hard. Quickly list the things (even the littlest moments) that you LOVE RIGHT NOW.

Here is my list:

1. Being on the dance floor doing my best Beyonce impression (last night, I did that.).

2. A good hard, deep, tear inducing laugh.

3.  Ugg Boots - No Socks

4. New Specs..

5. Olive Oil, Kosher Salt, Cracked Pepper.

6. When hubs comes home from the office early.

7. Freshly manicured brows. Mine.

8. A sweat inducing run/listening to my favorite jams.

9. Waking up after 7 on the weekend and both kids are still asleep. Not sure that has every happened, but a girl can dream?

10. A new episode of Parenthood. I LOVE THAT SHOW.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY : WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DONT PUT THE VASELINE AWAY

I ALMOST DIED when I ran across these. I was digging through the crates to find some pics of myself when I was as fit and trim as I'd like to be and this came across my computer screen. I remember it like it was yesterday. That is one of my most favorite Tea Collection sweater dresses that was totally RUINED. No way I was getting all of the oil out of that thing.

At any rate. THE CUTEST LITTLE MUNCHKIN - SHE IS!! It made me a little weepy to see. I feel like I've been fussing at her a lot lately. About moving too slowly when I ask her to do something. Not listening to me the first time. I'm just trying so hard to raise her to be a smart, confident and responsible girl. But I have to remember to let her be a little girl. They wiggle and squirm. Don't have the greatest attention span. And are still watching and learning every little thing. And that takes time. It reminded me that she is my little girl and to be patient with her NOW. Just like I to be the day she got into the Vaseline.

MOMMY FILES {FRAME YOUR FAVORITES}

YOU SHOULD TOTALL DO THIS.

With the munchkin headed off to kindergarten and the little h growing like a weed, I've been sorting through clothes like a mad woman. I have three piles: 1) donate (to goodwill or friends) 2) consign 3) keep. The "keep" pile consists of those things I cant bear to part with.. First winters caps, the dress munchkin came home from the hospital in, those first walking shoes (and sunnies)... I've been doing some scrap boxes with some of my favorite mementos and this I'll be hanging in little h's room. He wore this on his first birthday, we also did a baby dedication (like a Christening) that day. He is my SWEET little man. 

It was super easy. Just covered the board with (my most favoritest) fabric and used straight pins inside the shoulders and legs of the garment to stretch out and secure.

You should totally do this. What would you frame and put on display?
