I know, Its been a month since my last post.. And let me just say.. I'm in the process of doing 5 loads of laundry as we speak.. Old habits die hard:-(

Moving right along.. and getting ready for Valentines Day! I love a great DIY project. And now that the munchkin is old enough to write her name (ahem...) I have scoured the web for the perfect Valentine for her classmates (and teachers).. These are some of my favorites so far.. And if you are in a pinch, you can pull these together pretty quickly over the weekend for next Tuesday!

I fell in love with these Paint Chip Bookmarks on Old Town Home. Can I just run into the Sherwin Williams and relieve them of a whole stack? Would that be wrong?

Pinned Image

Friendship Bracelets from Dandee-Designs Blog!! Will definitely be pinning this for when the munchkin gets just a little older.

It reads, Happy Valentines Day for "CRAYON" out loud.. get it??? LOVE. Find the template for the card on this site

my little munchkin LOVES wiggly eyes (its what we call them). the wiggly eye (or wonky eye) is also the "momma" eye I use to keep the little one check. its the side eye I give her when she's "not being a good lister" and mommy means business... but I digress.. I found these at the  kraze4paper etsy shop , and thought they were super cute!

the munchkin has many guy pals, I know they would find these amazing super hero Valentines I found on Zaka life super cool!

super hero! valentines

So i think we are going to go with this one. I stopped off at the Trader Joes and picked up some Organic Lollipops #dontjudgeme... and am going to work on these over the weekend.

egg hunt!!

i wont keep you long. just wanted to share some pix from last weekend. the munchkin invited some of her pals over for a big egg hunt. i'm sure my neighbors thought we were having some kind of photo shoot as we were all chasing the munchkin's around the yard with cameras!!

it was BIG fun!

the munchkins boo brought her a bouquet of tulips (my favorite) in honor of the big day! she's a little greasy in this pic. i get a little carried away with vaseline sometimes... that flower in her hair is almost as big as her head? sorry munchkin... mommy gets a little carried away with MANY things...

annies organic cheddar bunnie's are all the rage on the toddler scene:-)

we even had an appearance by the easter bunny:-)

class of 2026! man we're old!

nothing too fancy...

in my quest for high school skinniness (is that a word?) i have embarked on a quest to give my veggies a little kick in order to not fall off the band wagon. these balsamic green beans and mushrooms (with brown rice and baked chicken) did not taste like the publix berry blast sherbet that i was pretending they were. but they were really yummy nonetheless.

i told the little munchkins teacher that i would make her grand daughter a few head bands for Easter. This is what  i came up with.

Try to imagine these on a toddler:-)

So after the little munchkin's music class today she decided that she wanted to take advantage of the beautiful sunshine and have dinner on the patio here..  No really, she did!  i'm a big fan of mexican. and it seems someone is following in my footsteps:-)

i could eat this all day.. dont worry i didnt this time.

love at first sight...

hubby is off to the office:-( and the munchkin is down for her nap:-) so i am left to my own devices this early afternoon. i thought i'd do a quick little post...

fyi - i think our new favorite restaurant is "le petit marche" in kirkwood.. stay tuned for the official review from hubby...

i am so excited that unlike "Sunday" at Christmas... "Sasha" at Valentines Day was greeted with hugs and kisses (instead of total refusal) today!!!
Mommy finished her up just in time. I put a big flower in her hair and gave her some sweet little yellow Mary Janes (figured that one out on my own too lesley:-).  now they are all the best of friends..

loves it!

Feb 10, 2010

yay! i did it!

so i've been threatening to start making headbands for the little munchkin..
i snapped these while the she was eating her oatmeal:-)

i even like this head band on myself.. we may just start having to share...

we did some little red roses in preparation for valentines day! how sweet!

loving my roots...

i'm realizing more and more everyday that the thing i love most in this world is taking care of my family... i never thought i would be this lady... i always thought i'd be ms. jetsetting-dealmaking-corporate city slicker..  i mean growing up in my big small town in florida all i could think about is what was outside the city limits...  and now that i've lived a couple places and done some things... what i enjoy most is being a wife and a mommy.. and all that comes along with that.

there are no better feelings that snuggling with my hubby at bed time and the little kisses he gives me when he wakes up briefly in the middle of the night.  and i love to smell my munchkin's breath.. i dont know why.. it doesnt smell like anything? but i LOVE it...

at any rate..

i made some home made apple cinamon  oatmeal this weekend..  i used apple juice and pureed apples and cinamon. YUM!

my favorite was the little chunks of apples..

she's so grown up now!!
16 months and counting.. should she know how to play hide and seek? well there are a couple of cabinets that i leave unlocked that have the plastics in them that she's plays in. we saw her climbing inside and that she ws trying to close the door.. we figured it would take her at least a couple of days to figure out how to close the door behind her.. try a couple of seconds!! of course i played the distressed "where's baby?!!!" act. .and she loved every minute of it, cracking herself up inside.. she's definately not afraid of the dark!!

a little late to the game on this one, but i was so excited to give it a try!!  i looked all over for a black black apple doll, to no avail so i was on my own on this one. martha stewart provided the tutorial from the ladies.
i didnt finish this up in time for Christmas.. so i think i'll give it to her for Valentine's Day.. i still need to stuff it. and am trying to figure out how to give her some sweet little mary jane's.. and maybe some accessories.. i'm such a novice at sewing but am looking forward to more projects! what should we name her?!!

hubby says she has smoker's lips?

is it too soon?

hubby is putting the little munchkin to bed tonight so i thought i'd do a quick post on what's been on my mind today..

now that we've kissed 2009 good bye and put the Christmas decorations back in the basement.. i was thinking that i'd like to make a valentine's day inspired wreath and a centerpiece of sorts for the house.

i've been looking for some ideas to nab and havent quite come up with anything yet. but in the mean time... these ideas are getting my creative juices flowing...

martha stewart called this a heart "felt" scarf.. i think it could also be used as garland.

these knitted hearts would be a good gift for a baby,  slightly larger and stuffed with wool and a jingle ball.

maybe this idea from better homes and gardens would be a cute table topper?

i think i will definitely be doing something like this... what better excuse to make brownies and design sponge even provides templates.

valentines heart felt pins by the ladies at purl bee.

garland also by the fabulously talented ladies at purl bee

cute gift idea (also from design sponge) or if you are just looking to add something to your home decor for the holiday and beyond. . i think i might try this one. as part of my spring cleaning i have an old jewelery box that needs cleaning out.

i couldnt resist posting this pic of my little munchkin from last valentines day. i know i was being "bad mommy" by giving my munchkin her first taste of sweets at 6 months but i couldnt resist making these valentines day cupcakes and celebrating her half birthday!! i promise i only gave her a little bite:-)

muwah!!
