this all started because i was looking for some diy ideas to redo some little lamps i've been holding on to for a while... i found a noteworthy project video on design sponge (everyone's fav!).. the idea was to use wall paper to cover the lamp shade.. some fancy paper from paper source or paper affair might also do the trick...
at any rate on my journey i ran across some other inspiring and wish list items i thought i'd share:
the rug company
i ran across this rug on the little green notebook (blog) and then again on the rug company site and have officially decided i'd like to do a yellow-like rug for my dining room..

I have a floral black and white rug that we used to have in our apartment when we lived in little 5 that is way too small in my family room. i'd love to replace it with something like this.
textile designer Lotta Jansdotter sells these great little bags filled with fabric remnants perfect for small projects like this change purse and tissue holder from Etsy seller Little Byrd. Each cotton bag is filled with 5 different patterns of 36×36″ fabric for $14.00.
Note: I dont know this Little Byrd. .but I do know Homemade Grits.. and her graduate school pouches are super sweet:-)
I'm not big on gold (jewelry) per se.. but i thought these dainty little Solitaire Emerald Rings by Erica Weiner were too perfect. It would be really cute hanging from a thin gold strand necklace. It's my birthstone.. so i think they would make a sweet little birthday present (hint, hint)...
enough day dreaming for now.. i think i'll work on one of my little projects while watching the young and the restless (dont judge me:-) and then read a couple of chapters before bed.
i have a huge crush on j. crew... and occasionally i profess my love for him and all of the reasons he makes me swoon. and in the spirit of valentines day i thought it appropriate to write him a little note:

oddly i would wear these pearl jewel box earrings every day... i think i could dress these up or down.. i'm weird like that. a bit bolder than studs with a chic vintage vibe (says j).
i love, Love LOVE this timex military watch. i dont own a watch but if it did it would be this one.. i also think i would wear this every day and dress it up or down.. what? i do what i want!

seems like she always knows just when to say, "wanna come over and let the kiddies play?" i got some rather disturbing news this week which put me in one of my notorious "funks". but such is life.
getting it all out just made me realize all i have to be thankful for. and how important it is to stay prayerful and stay positive.
i just finished rocking the little munchkin to sleep. she never lets me do that anymore. she's such a big girl now. today she said, "nap!" because she was tired and wanted to lie down. how crazy is that? as i was sitting in our rocking chair tonight i realized that there are a few images that i am so thankful are forever burned into my mind.
my little munchkin laughing.. i was sitting in bed the other night and just started to grin as I thought of my little munchkin bursting into her toothy smile. i cant believe i made this little person. it melts my heart.
my little sleeping beauty. my little munchkin drifting off to sleep in my arms is a reminder that i am here to love and protect her. and the trust that she has for me is like no other.
the love of my life i tell you. man he can really work a nerve when he wants to. but i am SO GRATEFUL for him and who i am because of him...
so after putting this turkey pita's greek style and lemony greek potatoes on the table hubby shouts, "add this to the menu". and then proceeded to clean his plate.. you know how i love when that happens...
and currently hubby is obsessing over this:

now off to snuggle up in bed and watch this. I always thought Mr. Prinze was cutie pie!!
his weekend we went down to Florida to celebrate one of my dearest friends 30th birthday. We rented a house on the beaches of St. Augustine, Florida with friends and just relaxed. I dropped my little munchkin off with her grandparents an hour away...
its been such a long time since the hubby and i just slept and didnt get out of bed until we absolutely had to. the last trip we took, i ended up bringing home a gallon of pumped milk so this was TOTALLYdifferent. on the 5 hour drive back we talked about finally feeling "settled." like this is OUR little family. the last 6 and a half years have been such a world wind. I met the love of my life, finished b-school, got engaged, then married, bought our first house, then carried my munchkin for 38 weeks, and now i've been learning how to be a good wife and mommy and friend for the last year. so now here we are. all grown up.
so i mentioned in an earlier blog. that this is like my cheap new therapy.. blogging that is.. it allows me to zone out for a bit, forget about the mundaneness (is that a word?) and troubles of the day.. and focus on what makes me happy. my family, all things beautiful, God's great gifts:-)
somedays i feel like super woman! super mommy! the world is my oyster.. and some days (like today).. like the big "L".
i havent been watching much crappy TV.. although i did have a three way conference call last night to watch "Let's talk about Pep". a train wreck.
but i digress (as i usually do).
