THE {MINT JULEP} CARDIGAN YOU'LL WANT TO WEAR ALL FALL, A HOT LUNCH DATE + A COUPLE OF LINKS

I'm not certain why I'm not looking at the camera in any of these pics, but I am certain that I am IN LOVE with this cardigan and will probably wear it every day this fall. I was so excited when the ladies at MINT JULEP sent me a lovely note and this amazing sweater (perfect for an impromptu rainy day lunch date with h), and a gift card to share with you guys!

We met at our fave little cuban restaurant for some amazing cuban sandwiches, some quick (kiddo free) time and great conversation.

I felt relaxed and super cute in the See The Light Cardigan, my favorite chambray button up and navy patent leather ballet flats. H had a pretty big smile on his face when he saw me, so I think it worked out well:-)

I've actually tried the sweater on with a black shift dress (for church), and a white button up with khaki shorts (for Notre Dame/FSU Game Day) for some different looks. Its quite versatile, so I know it will be getting much play in the upcoming chilly months.

Thats my bae. haaa! I think that word is so funny. I almost spit my coffee out when I saw this Instagram post of (captioned) Oprah and her Bae.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. The usual suspects - ballet, church, oh and Girls Scout Day at the Georgia Aquarium with the munchkin  and I'm hoping to meet up with one of my favorite mamas and her two girls for some fun...

In the in between time I'll be doing:

Some Decorating: Sprucing up the place a bit for fall guests - Perusing the chic and easy prints over at Lindsay Letters.
Menu Planning: Drooling over this instagram feed full of savory flavorful family dinner ideas - and jotting down a few for future reference.
Binge Watching: This show has been nominated for lots if awards over the last few years. I think it's time see what all the hullabaloo is about now that Taye Diggs recently joined the cast. Do you watch The Good Wife?

What are you up to this weekend?

FOR THE WEEKEND | A FUNNY BOOK, MOVIES I'M DYING TO SEE, & LINKS!

ITS THE WEEKEND - WOOT!

I think all of my favorite actors and comedians got together and made movies and decided to release them all at the same time. Frantically searching for a sitter so that I can dive into at least one of these movies - HILARIOUS, EMOTIONAL, TERRIFYING - over the weekend. I've corralled the trailers for your viewing pleasure. Also, if you're going to see either, ping me just in case I need to leave hubby at home for a GIRLS NIGHT OUT.

Speaking of Girls Night, I'm almost finished with this hilarious book. The author has described southern women to a tee - which I found equally hilarious and offensive?!  Hoping to finish it up over the weekend and dive into a few other things:

I'm trying to find something fun to do over the long weekend in October. I'd love to share this huge amazing house with some friends in mountains of Asheville, I've never been before - but a fall trip to the mountains would be a good way to unwind from the hustle of back to school… Hints to the hubby..

Stumbled on this Cozi app - the tag line drew me in - family.  life.  simplify - I'll take some of that.

Going  overboard over on Pinterest - looking for inspiration for fall porch decor ideas starting with this inspired Pinterest board. I'm thinking galvanized planters, purple mums, white stenciled pumpkins...

SHOUT OUT! So jealous happy for my bloggy pal Mimi who has just signed on to blog for Good Housekeeping - WOW!! I want to be just like this chic when I grow up. For Real tho.

SO In love with the style and design of this Chicago apartment. Currently deleting all my pin boards and starting over with these photos:-) Oh and I'll be stalking her super cute blog over the weekend.

Locking myself in my little guest room/office for a bit making more of these lovely bracelets - I think. Enter to win one for yourself - SHARING THE LOVE.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY: MY VALENTINE

bunnie and H, circa 2006

we had an anniversary this week. 8 years - woot woot! he gets on my nerves. daily. these last couple of days snowed in with him and the kids was a real test of wills. where neither of us was the winner. we BOTH were. after many fights about whose turn it was to change the stinky diaper, or who sneaked in a nap (or a shower) while the other was doing all the work.  we climbed into bed and made fun of the Juan Pablo and the ladies on The Bachelor and laughed (and did our nightly binge on social media) our selves to sleep.

definitely winning in this life with you.

happy anniversary and happy valentine's day lover.

xx,
Bunnie

Saving Face with Baxter

Must have razor! I have been shaving with Gillette since my Navy days and just realized how badly they suck after shaving 4 days in a row because of important meetings. Nick, Nick, Nick. UGH! I normally can get by with an every other day approach since I don't grow a ton of facial hair. I also thought it ridiculous to spend real money on something that provides a limited function. I spend about $12 on a pack of toss aways. This one is $60 and comes with blades and replacements are 20 for $4, which is not bad when you start doing the longer term math. Not sure why they named it the Safety Razor but I'd love one for Father's Day. Better than the neon light Miami necktie that Cliff Huxtable got from his kids. Cosby Show Season 1 Episode 13

for the lovers..

due to yesterday's snowfall, we were advised not to travel today unless absolutely necessary so we listened to music and played all day!! the darling hubby even tore himself away from his new toy long enough to make valentine's day cards with us!! actually we both finally upgraded into the 21st century from our previous 2006 antique phones..
i was really getting tired of having to hit the #5 three times to get to the letter "l".

at any rate we pulled out all the crayons and paper and whatever else could find and made a huge mess. i think I had the most fun:-/

tomorrow hubby will be taking his girls out to a valentines day brunch
before heading into the office for a bit:-( We'll be making heart shaped brownies to welcome him home...

Happy Valentines Day!!

bunnie and h. sittin' in a tree..

tomorrow we will have been married for 4 glorious years... i can still remember the day we met like it was yesterday.. and my mom will tell you that the night we met (6.5 years ago), i came home and told her that i had met my husband.. mainly because he could recite all of the lines from "The Color Purple."

It has been quite the non stop crazy whirlwind since that summer day in Jax.

Here's to many MANY more..

does he look like he has a ring in his pocket?

at piedmont park for our save the dates.. how did i dig this up? my arms look so taut and thin.. loves it!

truly the happiest moment of my life.. and the best party i've ever been to:-)

the next best party i've ever been to (my 30th).. at the spot we first met. breakin' it down like we do!!

a baby in my belly! yay!

okay maybe this is the happiest day of my life... or at least the scariest:-)

i owe all of the best days of my life to you..
i feel really old now. i think i'll go and put on some moisturizer...

happy anniversary

Jan 7, 2010

one step at a time...

what i dont understand about this man is why he insists on having me watch a football game that he himself is not watching.. like "oh, turn to the game.. i've been waiting for the game to start." and then he promptly goes to sleep with remote in his hand.. let me say that this is quite annoying since i am not a football fan. i have no desire to watch it. or any other sport (except gymnastics, and ice skating). except i will watch the bengals for a brief moment because thier uniforms are so cute and flashy!

but i digress..

so then when i try and get the remote to turn the channel, he's like "babe, i'm watching this..." when i clearly saw your eyes completely closed and maybe even a little drool on your lip..

the joys of marriage..

which brings me to my point. i've been in little funk. this happens to me when i watch bad tv that i'm ashamed of. or is it the other way around?

at any rate, i realized that i must be ashamed because as i was watching The Real World DC the other night and i thought i heard hubby's footsteps coming up the stairs and i hurried to change the channel so he wouldnt see that i was watching:-( because i was embarrassed.

i think if i put it out there then maybe i'll stop. the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

5 shows that i'm embarrassed to watch and even TiVo occassionally

The Real World
I'll put my age out there and go on record that I remember the first cast like it was yesterday. Kevin, Heather B., Eric.. Hubby and I both agreed that we are too old to continue to watch the show but would allow ourselves to look at any episodes prior to Las Vegas. But sometimes I just cant help myself.. what if i just watch the challenges? HELP. ME. PLEASE.

VH1 Bachelor Shows.. Any of them...
I know it's just wrong. Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, The Love of Ray J... maybe it's the hopeless romantic in me? I even caught myself trying to help this "Entertainer" guy find the perfect girl to help him move out of his mother's basement.  I'm getting nervous.. please dont talk badly about me.

Keeping up with the Kardashians.. I. AM. SO. EMBARRASSED!
It's like US weekly without the commercials?

Teen Mom
Really? Teen Mom? What grade am I in? I'm sure they did not have my demographic in mind when putting this show together.. maybe it's the mom in me.. i could really be THIER mom.. Now that's embarrassing.

The Young and the Restless
Okay, really. I'm not embarrassed by this. I've been watching since I was in the womb. So really its not my fault. I scheduled my college classes around it. and I was on bed rest for the latter part of my pregnancy so my 16 month old can probably hum herself to sleep with the theme music. And they will cancel this show over my dead body. okay maybe a little embarrassed.

A nice Southern girl should not be watching these things! Immediately following, i will send out an email for the ressurection of my book club. I promise. Wanna join?
